From beginning of my studies in Psychology here in Heidelberg I was interested in the broad field of addictive behaviors and its further associated aspects of psychopathology. At this point, my research in Bachelor’s and Master’s theses focused on familial transmission and development of alcohol-related cognitions and emotions. Since last two years I am working in the multicenter project CANSAS, supported by the BMBF. There, we investigate the relationship between traumatization in childhood and youth, emotion regulation and the development of later substance use disorders. Besides my scientific activity, I take part at ZPP’s postgradual apprenticeship for future psychological psychotherapists and work at Heidelberg University Hospital with young adults in mental crises.
